Bridging Gaps RenAIssance #1 - AI Before the 2025 Milestone

🤖 Will AI replace 80% of jobs? Will AI drastically change our lives? While everyone has these doubts, the real question should be: How did we actually get here and what's the real story behind the hottest topic everyone in Silicon Valley is watching?

🔛Introducing Bridging Gaps RenAIssance, a new series of AI events where we will explore the AI revolution: models, agents, business, regulations and risks. We are excited to announce our first event of the series:

“#1 AI Before the 2025 Milestone: From Origins to Revolution" with David Turturean, MIT researcher and student in AI & astrophysics.

David brings a rare perspective from inside the machine: working on developing the MIT AI Risk Index platform at MIT CSAIL, presenting AI safety concerns to US Congress, attending Y Combinator's AI Summer School with Elon Musk and Sam Altman and researching cross-model alignment at MIT's Algorithmic Alignment Group.

In this journey we'll explore:

🔹The forgotten AI Winter: Research of Alan Turing and John McCarthy.

🔹The breakthrough decade: What actually changed between 2012-2022 (hint: it wasn't just compute power).

🔹Where we are NOW: The real capabilities and progress slopes vs. media and social media narratives in late 2025.

🔹The 2025 milestone: Why researchers believe this year marks a critical transition.

🔹The untold research story: How MIT, OpenAI, DeepMind, as well as third-party non-industry, non-academia institutions actually conduct AI research.

Join us for the historical and technical story of humanity's most ambitious project, told by an expert from across the ocean, a “most wanted” talent in the AI Industry.

📅 When: 30 September, 18:00 EET - Romania Time Zone.

💻 Where: Online, the presentation will be held in Romanian.

👥 For: Students, professionals, AI-related decision leaders and anyone who wants to understand AI's trajectory up to this point - not just its current hype.
